White, with a Splash of Color

Although colored wedding gowns are one of today’s popular bridal trends, there is something special about wearing an all-white wedding dress (by “white” I am of course including shades of white too, like cream and ivory). But if you are thinking “white equals boring,” think again! It can be anything but dull, especially when you throw in dashes of color in charming, sometimes unexpected places!

Colored shoes peeping out from below are one of the easiest (and most fun) ways to add color to your ensemble! For inspiration, think about your wedding colors… consider shoes that match your groom’s tie, your bridesmaids’ dresses, or your bouquet.

Pearls are lovely and diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, but there are so many other beautiful jewels out there, no bride should feel limited to monochromatic jewelry. Winter Brides Wrap it up

Your sleeveless or strapless wedding gown will undoubtedly look lovely on the big day, but how will you brave the winter weather to get to your wedding venue? Are you having an outdoor ceremony at sunset, or a quick photo shoot in the swirling snow? Whatever it is, a little extra protection might be a good idea… But what can you wear that will add, not detract, from the beauty of your bridal wear?

If you just can’t see yourself covering up that gorgeous gown for even a short time, how about adding a bridal shrug (sheer or not) for a bit more coverage? Or, for the ultimate in bridal elegance, what do you say to some gloves (at least your fingers will be warm)?

Of course, fur is a great option for winter! If you want something a bit warmer, you can get a faux fur wrap ($42.95 at Advantage Bridal) that will keep your shoulders nice and toasty. To add a little fun, get colorful and wear a wrap that will match the bridal party!
