Just one more reason that your husband (or fiance) should be glad he’s married (going to be married) to you! According to the Times Online, Men married to smart women live longer! We already know that married men live longer than unmarried men, and that a romantic relationship can add years to your life, but now we know something else… when it comes to picking a wife, brainy is better!

There is a lingering suspicion among girls… that boys don’t value cleverness as an essential quality in a life partner. Given a choice between gorgeous or brainy, there is no guarantee they’ll do the right thing, because men think they’re clever enough for two. Well, it turns out they’re wrong. Swedish scientists have discovered that long life and good health have nothing to do with a man’s education and everything to do with his wife’s. Men married to smart women live longer — simple.

And why might this be so? Well the answer is not as exciting as you might imagine. It’s simply that “educated” women know the value of good health, a proper diet, exercising, getting enough sleep, not smoking, sky diving, or skipping breakfast, etc etc etc, and are able to encourage (nudge? harass? just kidding!) their husbands into better habits. Another added benefit might be the “healthy, strong, intellectual bond that keeps them alive for years to come!” Keeping your mind sharp has shown to increase life span and slows the onset of dementia, Alzheimer and similar diseases. A wife who keeps her man on his toes is good for him in so many ways!

Mori Lee Bridesmaids: from sassy prints to simple elegance

Designer Mori Lee has lots of solid-colored bridesmaids gowns, but I particularly like her printed, floor-length gowns. Short and Sweet Dresses for the Unconventional Bride

When I think “bridal gown” I think of long, long, long dresses, preferably with long, long, long trains. “Not many women seem to take the plunge and go for the short stuff,” says fab sugar, pointing out that cocktail-inspired dresses are a bit unconventional. But there are those brides who prefer something “short and sweet” like the budget beautiful bride. Besides for just liking the look, her reasons for choosing short over long are as follows:

“We are humble people who do not live fancy schmancy lives…” For her, a shorter dress equals simplicity.
“I also don’t fancy the idea of a dress dragging behind me like a dead fish. I want to be light on me feet…” (Well, when you put it that way!! You can always bustle it up after the ceremony!)

I’m definitely a long wedding dress type of gal, but here is one beauty that almost makes me change my mind. OK, I’ve already had my chance at wedding gowns, (and wore a lovely, long dress with a train!) so it’s not really up for discussion, but IF I was still looking for a dress, this would be up for serious consideration!! If I had to go with a short wedding dress, I’d chose one that swirls!! I love the one in the middle with the silver sash and the one right under it with the long sleeves. Gorgeous!
